Food safety Management System Based on ISO 22000 and HACCP

Back ground

Currently there is an increasing demand for control of food to ensure that hazards inherent in their processing and handling are controlled and that risks involved are eliminated or minimized to acceptable level. ISO 22000 Food Management System is internationally recognized management system as being effective to be used for this purpose.

ISO 22000 system ensures food safety through the analysis and control of biological, chemical and physical hazards from raw material, production, procurement and handling to manufacturing, distribution and consumption of the finished product. This course is designed based on Ethiopian Standard ES ISO 22000 Food Management System and guideline for its application.


Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to understand, develop, implement and maintain ISO 22000 Food Management System in their companies in order to control, reduce or eliminate risks involved in processing and handling of food. Participants are evaluated through intensive practical exercises and final test.

Target group

This course is intended for technical personnel and senior managers directly involved in food development, implementation and auditing of the system.

Admission requirements

The participants shall have at least diploma or equivalent relevant to his/her field of employment and minimum of 3 years experience in food and drink industry.
